Indigenous Flood - United Nations : NYC - Come to New York!

  • New York, NY

The Flood never came to Standing Rock, so let's bring the Flood to the United Nations.

From April 24th to May 5th the United Nations in New York City is holding the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, also known as PFII. Typically, these forums lack Native American representation, and often have Non-Natives speaking on behalf of Natives and their issues. This ends now.

For two weeks, we need to show New York, The UN, and the world that Indigenous People are here, and can speak for themselves.

The world will not forget what happened at Standing Rock. The world will no longer ignore the conditions on reservations, and the issues effecting indigenous people around the globe. 3/4 of the world's population are indigenous, and it's time they stop forgetting that.

There are multiple levels of events within this forum, some more exclusive than others. We want to come out in full force at every level. From top to bottom. From panels at the UN headquarters to flash mob round dances in Time Square, we are going to Flood New York City.

Whether you are registered for the forum or not, we are asking for all indigenous people and allies to come to New York City and show your support. As the strongest of warriors take the United Nations to speak, they will have the support of their brothers and sisters outside, praying, singing, marching and standing in solidarity.

Thousands came to Standing Rock. Thousands came to DC. And we can do the same in New York City.

We are planning a plethora of events, from demonstrations, to speaking engagements, to gatherings and dances and celebrations. For two weeks, let's make New York City our new home.

More details to come as this develops and grows.

Wyoming's March for Science and Earth Day Rally

  • Laramie, Wyoming

Join us on April 22, 2017 in Laramie for Wyoming's March for Science: a satellite march in solidarity with national and global efforts.

We'll meet outside of the UW Classroom Building (lawn on 9th and Ivinson) and from there march downtown. The march will end at the Earth Day Rally where there will be speakers, live music, and information booths. It'll be a great time gather and meet like minded people and organizations from around the state.

There will also be a city wide clean up before the march that we are encouraging march participants to join if they can. If you wish to participate in this, we'll be meeting in front of Coal Creek downtown at 10 AM.

Clean up, march, and socialize. Together we can empower each other. Together we can persist. Together we can resist.

"The March for Science is a celebration of our passion for science and the many ways science serves our communities and our world. The March for Science is an unprecedented global gathering of scientists and science enthusiasts joining together to acknowledge the vital role science plays in our lives and the need to respect and encourage research that gives us insight into the world."

We march "To let our voices be heard; To demand of our leaders in government: evidence based policy and the cessation of the silencing of scientific data that is not convenient to the party line."

Science, not Silence.

The March for Science - Jackson Hole is a celebration of science and the very real role that science plays in our daily lives. Our goal is to highlight how science saves lives, how science improves lives, and to recognize the active scientific process which gives us insight into ourselves and the world around us. Science belongs to all people and it is crucial for the scientific process to remain open and inclusive. Future discoveries and progress hinge on the participation of all people regardless of cultural or political divisions.

The March for Science champions robustly funded and well communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest.

Water Is Life

  • Cheyenne Depot Plaza

Peaceful March supporting Water Is Life. Mni Waconi. Major water sources are being polluted by crude oil being ran through pipelines and leaking into our systems. Farmers crops have been devastated from oil spills into the soil. Entire communities have been banned from drinking their tap water. This isn't about money....its about life. You cannot drink oil. March 10 people from all over the United States will be peacefully marching to bring awareness to the importance of water.
