NoDAPL Divestment Campaign - EARTH DAY Edition

  • 6th ST and Montgomery AVE Bremerton, WA 98312 (map)

Kick off your Earth Day by turning up to encouraged divestment from Dakota Access Piplines and other oil piplines. Bring your sign, and join us on the sidewalk at 6th and Montgomery in Bremeront.
This turn-up will call attention to an opportunity for people to support the #NoDAPL movement and Indigenous/Native sovereignty by divesting from banks that invest in or have relationships with pipeline companies (such as Energy Transfer Partners, the company behind Dakota Access Pipeline). Wells Fargo is one such bank, so this turn-up will be on the corner in front of their Bremerton location.
"Take an Earth Day action! Divest from oil pipelines!"
"Does your bank fund DAPL? If yes, Divest!"
"I took my $$$ out of banks that fund pipelines!"
"Indigenous Sovereignty"
"Stand with Standing Rock"
* We will be standing on the sidewalk.
* We will be at the corner of 6th and Montgomery) holding our signs, waving at cars, letting people who ask know why we're there, etc.
* Be safe and help other pedestrians/drivers be safe too! Look up from your phone screen. Cross at the crosswalks. Be aware.
* Leave no trace of our presence. Whatever you bring with you (signs, water bottles, coffee cups, etc.), take it with you when you leave. Pick up extra trash too, if you want!
* In alignment with our efforts, please consider using reusable cups and bottles for your water and other beverages (rather than to-go cups, plastic bottles, etc.), both at this turn-up and in general!
* Meet other people. Share whatever information you've learned about #NoDAPL and other Indigenous/Native-led organizing. Use this time not just to hold signs but also to work on a commitment to resisting assaults on Indigenous/Native sovereignty!
