Pipeline Resistance!

  • Washington Hall 153 14th Ave, Seattle, Washington 98122 (map)

Come kick off two campaigns on pipeline infastructure that are affecting WA! 350Seattle and WPSR are partnering with us to roll these efforts out in Seattle!!

First, to stop Kinder Morgan's plans to expand their current Pacific NW pipeline to be bigger than Keystone XL, we are launching a cross-border community fundraising campaign called Pull Together. Pull Together is a tangible way individuals, communities and businesses can provide financial support to First Nations legal cases and moral support to everyone on the front lines against this project.

Secondly, we are working to stop a potential natural gas pipeline down the I-5 corridor, called the Sumas Express. This pipeline would increase our state's natural gas capacity, and therefore usage by 1/3rd. Currently the pipeline is being rationalized by a proposed methanol refinery in Kalama WA. We will be working to both stop that specific project, and find ways to proactively stop the Sumas Express from getting built in King County.

We'll have some great speakers, followed by small group discussions to plan tactics for both campaigns.
