NoDAPL SURJ Community Meeting

  • Chevy Chase Library 5625 Connecticut Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20015 United States (map)

SURJ DC is a local chapter of Showing up for Racial Justice - a national network of white people organizing ourselves to stand up for racial justice and combat white supremacy.

Right now, indigenous leadership within the #NoDAPL movement is calling for allies to escalate our actions on all fronts. SURJ DC is holding a community meeting for anyone who wants to work within our chapter to support the #NoDAPL movement, and act in solidarity with others to defeat the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Our long term goal is to build an Indigenous Solidarity working team within SURJ DC that works closely with local indigenous activists and organizers to mobilize our base on local, regional, and national indigneous issues. Thismeeting will primarily focus on coordinating our chapter around the #NoDAPL fight, and disseminating information from the #NoDAPL Global Solidarity Campaign to our members (see: https://nodaplsolidarity.org/).

Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming. If you cannot come, but want to be involved, you can write us at: surjdc@gmail.com
