Successful Activism Workshop - Yellowstone to Uintas Connection

Yellowstone to Uintas Connection will be hosting a Successful Activism Workshop on Tuesday, May 23 at 5:30 pm at Fisher Brewing in Salt Lake City. This training is available to everybody and will be free of charge!

The event will feature a 15 minute presentation from Cache Humane Society Director Stacey Frisk on the legality of lobbying as a non-profit. Then, Dr. David Christian from Logan, Utah will be give an approximately hour long training on Motivational Interviewing (MI), a proven and effective strategy for facilitating behavior change. MI is a communication method that is rapidly catching on across the country used by doctors, lawyers, executives, scientists, advocates, lobbyists and many others. MI provides methods for approaching individuals and developing working relationships with them in order to factilitate real measureable outcomes. These methods have been proven to work both through numerous studies and in practice. Dr. Christian will co-present with Sharla Hart, his wife, who is an expert in instructional education.

We encourage you to invite as many people as you know to this free workshop whether they be employees or friends of your organization, or even just folks you know. Please keep in mind that Fisher Brewing is a 21 and over veune. The main presentations will be from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Fisher Brewing has been nice enough to let us use their space so we encourage folks to stick around after for food, drinks and conversations with some great people from around the state!
