Defund Dapl-Utah, Flood Wells Fraudo

  • Salt Lake City Public Library 210 East 400 South Salt Lake City, UT, 84111 United States (map)

Speaking the only language crony capitalists and corrupt banking institutions understand, the Defund DAPL movement seeks to unite the people of the greater SLC area to pull funds, close accounts, and amplify our disgust and anger of the use of member money to back the interests of the oil industry and its philosophy of profit before people. Nearly every major bank has financial ties to dirty energy, while credit unions invest locally.
****Most importantly, WE THE PEOPLE want to remind big banks that we do not condone the violation of Native American treaty and basic human rights*****

Since we want to take the bank by surprise, we don’t want to publicly announce our location ahead of time. We will meet at another location (The Salt Lake City Library) at 9am the day of the action to ensure everyone is on the same page and feels comfortable with the sequence of events. We will head to the respective branches around 9:45. Once everyone has made it through the line and taken their money, we will stand outside with signs having conversations and encouraging others to close accounts.
Please wear blue as we are FLOODING the banks. Bring signs. Remove your money from Wells Fraudo!

(The picture is of Happi American Horse during the early days of No Dapl. Picture taken by Rob Wilson. The clouds in the back are pregnant with rain and reminds me of the saying: A storm's a brewin)
