Gong Bath for Standing Rock: Upstairs at the Ritzy

  • Upstairs at the Ritzy Brixton Oval, SW2 1JG London, United Kingdom (map)

The water protectors at Standing Rock need assistance now more than ever, as their story slides off the front pages. Help to raise money as well as your vibrations at this special charity Gong Bath Upstairs at The Ritzy, where all the proceeds are to be given to the NO DAPL campaign.

If you've never experienced a Gong Bath, here's what to expect.

Gong Bath Sound Sanctuary sessions provide a welcome haven from the everyday. In a calm and supportive atmosphere, participants are able to drop their cares and worries for an hour of deep guided relaxation, meditation, and sound bathing.

It’s a time when you get to do something just for yourself; a space to which you can retreat to refresh and renew your body, mind, and spirit, gently guided by someone who is focused on your wellbeing.

No water is involved. The sounds of the specially selected instruments wash over and through your cells, causing them to vibrate sympathetically with the sound frequencies which deliver a massage at a level below conscious awareness - though sometimes this can be felt as tingling sensations.

The effects of a Gong Bath/Sound Massage can stimulate a healing response in muscles, joints, and tendons, and - because the brain easily enters an Alpha or Theta brainwave state - there may also be a reduction in stress responses.

It is said that one hour of meditation is equal to several hours of sleep, so expect to feel deeply rested and restored. For more information, go to my website at

Bring your own mats, and cushions, and wear light but warm layers and socks as body temperature can drop quickly when in a state of deep meditation.

Please arrive around 15 minutes before start time.

Gong Baths are contra-indicated if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or suffer from serious mental illness. Some medical implants are fine: please ask me first! Gong Bathing is otherwise beneficial for all.

Made possible with the kind support of Upstairs at the Ritzy.
