What's Next for Water Protectors - with Cheryl Angel

  • 1921 Overland Stage Rd Dripping Springs, TX 78620 (map)

Austin water and earth protectors and Standing Rock supporters are invited to a unique opportunity for debriefing after the recent closing of the water protection camps in Cannonball, North Dakota. Join Lakota elder, indigenous activist and water protector Cheryl Angel as we gather together to support each other, share our stories, and gain inspiration to keep standing.

Cheryl Angel is an indigenous activist, water protector, and land defender. She leads women in powerful, prayerful, and peaceful direct actions to sustain the living earth's watersheds. Since the closing of Sacred Stone Camp, she travels the country speaking and expressing her deep love of the water and those who protect it.

This will be a prayerful gathering--no drugs or alcohol. Gifts of tobacco, sage, and sweetgrass for the native elder would not be inappropriate. Native American instruments are welcome.

We will share food around 6:00. Please bring a dish to share. A charcoal grill will be ready around 5:45.
