March for Science

  • Rapid City, South Dakota (map)

"We are scientists and science enthusiasts. We come from all races, all religions, all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all abilities, all socioeconomic backgrounds, all political perspectives, and all nationalities. Our diversity is our greatest strength: a wealth of opinions, perspectives, and ideas is critical for the scientific process. What unites us is a love of science, and an insatiable curiosity. We all recognize that science is everywhere and affects everyone."

March for Science Official Statements

To stand in solidarity with the scientists around the country who are being kept silent we will march in Rapid City South Dakota. This will take place on Earth Day April 22, 2017. If you wish to voice your concerns over the anti-science policy that is currently being implemented please join us in our march.

The March for Science - Rapid City will kick off at 9:00 AM on April 22 at South Dakota School of Mines campus near the Surbeck building. We will march down St Joseph turning right on Steele Ave which becomes E Main Street and turn right on Lacrosse St. We will end at the Expo building at the Central States fairgrounds where the Earth Day Expo is taking place. Speakers are being lined up for the end of the march. Let us know if you have any suggestions for speakers (looking for speakers with a science background). Afterwards we hope you will stay to check out the Earth Day Expo activities.

Stay tuned, we will have more exciting plans to announce in the coming weeks. Help us spread the word about our march by telling your friends and fellow science supporters.

Currently much of the details are being planned and the proper precautions are being taken to ensure a safe march. More information will be posted to the page as the march approaches.

If you wish to donate to the lead organzation you can do so at their website Information about the march taking place in Washington DC is also there if you want to make the trip.
