Water Protectors, Our Resistance isn’t Over - (Organizing Event)
Date: Saturday March 4th
Time: 5-7PM
Location: Ahimsa House (West Philly)

What to bring to the potluck: Any vegetarian/vegan food, juices and desserts.

While on Feb 22nd and Feb 23rd at Standing Rock more than 40 water protectors (including elders like 1973 Wounded Knee veteran Regina Brave) took a treaty stand against the Army Corps of Engineers eviction, and got locked up, our Indigenous Environmental movement is stronger than ever before and the fight is far from over.

So for those who self-identify as Indigenous/Indigenous descent to the Americas and/or as allies/accomplices, organizers from Philly with Standing Rock are pleased to invite you for our first open organizing event of the year.

During these two hours, our goal is to get to know each other, celebrate what we have done and share with you our next plans of action.

Topics we will be covering are:
--Friday March 10th: All Native Nations March on Washington DC. Trip and call for solidarity.
--Fundraisers to support Water Protectors with their legal and living expenses after the eviction.
--City of Philadelphia Divestment Campaign from Wells Fargo. Wells is a chief funder of DAPL and also has very tight relationship with the city.
--Introducing a new collective with working-title Indigenous Philadelphia.
