Work and Training Weekend at The Stand!

  • 325 Conestoga Blvd Conestoga, PA 17516-9414 (map)

Lancaster Against Pipelines invites you to a weekend of work and nonviolent training at The Lancaster Stand.

Last weekend we erected a huge military tent to serve as a meeting space and dining hall. We painted the barn, raked walking paths through the cornfield, hauled stones for fire circles and set up the camp kitchen. We made friends around the campfire and woke up to sunshine and frosty mornings.

This weekend your help is needed again as we prepare to stop construction of the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline. Come ready to roll up your sleeves and do work around the camp. But also bring your thinking cap and a steady spirit, as we plan to hold nonviolent action scenario practice this weekend.

325 Conestoga Boulevard, Conestoga PA. Note that GPS will take you to the brick farmhouse, but you should instead park across the street next to the white tobacco barn.

Come camp out on Friday and Saturday nights at the Lancaster Stand, and pitch in around camp during the day on Saturday and Sunday! Come prepared for all elements. The warm weather is supposed to continue this weekend - although rain is a possibility on Saturday.

During the day, you help is needed with many different tasks, including art creation, shelter construction, rock hauling, general construction, and kitchen help

Nonviolence training will be continued, including a Mass Action Scenario Practice. More details about the training schedule and work tasks to be announced soon. At night we'll sing movement songs, eat s'mores and swap stories around the new fire circle!

Please bring your own camping equipment, warm clothes, and food and water for the weekend. Because the camp is at its very beginning stages, the camp is not yet prepared to guarantee enough food and water for all participants. Portapotties are available on the premise.

To ensure a family friendly and community supported atmosphere, we have the following simple camp rules:
* No Illegal Drugs
* No Alcohol
* No Weapons
* All dogs must be leashed at all times. Please be reponsible and clean up after your dog.

Been thinking of donating to The Stand? This weekend is the perfect time! Donations of money, non-perishable food, camping supplies, and firewood will be accepted during the weekend.
