Stand With Native Nations - National Solidarity Gathering *OREGON*

You are invited!!!! Questions? Read on...

WHY THIS DAY?
From March 7th-10th 2017, members and water protectors in alliance with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe will be gathering in Washington D.C and put out a call to gather in solidarity across the country on M10.

WHAT LED UP TO THIS?
Standing Rock has become the epicenter of injustice being inflicted upon the indigenous of this country. The Dakota Access Pipeline has been a catalyst to highlight the truth of the oppression our native people face. Racism isn't over and the war against the indigenous is not over.

AND AS FOR OREGON?
Portland marched on J20 against fascism, in solidarity for our women, for the Muslim ban and against hate speech. I want to see us make more beautiful intersectional ties that are inclusive across all communities. The people of this land need you.

WHO IS INVITED?
All Native American people and non-native allies from all communities and tribes. All children and youth are encouraged to come so we can celebrate them - this is family friendly.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
You will have an opportunity to connect with your community so we can foster more positive relationships. You will get to hear distinguished native speakers and watch musicians, dancers and singers perform in honor of tradition followed by a solidarity walk that will end in ceremony and prayer.

Gathering will be followed by an official after party by NXT LVL at Jade Club starting at 9pm for 21+!!! Featuring native dj's and performers!!! Donations and proceeds go to Water Protector Legal funds and Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women.

WHY IS THIS SIGNIFICANT?
When you stand for the Native people you stand at the root of injustice. The tone of continual oppressive systems were set when this county was invaded and built on attempted genocide, marginalization and displacement of it's people - our healing is your healing. Our bindings of oppression all look different but are put in place for the same reason. The oppression of the Native people has been widely perpetuated by erasing and silencing their voices and their existence. To exist has been to resist, but today we will rise. Here is the place, now is the time - we must stand together or fall divided.
