This is a follow up to the emergency #NoDAPL event that took place on Wednesday. We spoke a lot about different indigenous frontlines that are taking or have taken place not only here but also in other parts of North, Central, South America and the Pacific Islands. Indigenous resistance has been happening since colonialism settled on stolen land. I strongly suggest you take the time to look into these frontlines and not look for ways to reform the system or shut down a pipeline. But to dismantle what is causing all these issues. The reality of #NoDAPL is capitalism, it is banks and investments on stolen resources. It has no interest in our Mother Earth. Capitalism settled here as a colonial settlement which was set to only benefit some while others suffer the consequences or bare the labor. It is important we talk about indigenous sovereignty. It is important we make it visible that a Indigenous people are allowed to govern themselves. It is also important to respect indigenous rights by dismantling the colonial settlement that for 500 years has oppressed them.
