Standing Rock Discussion

  • Leadership Auditorium Columbia Missouri (map)

What does divesting from fossil fuels have to do with indigenous rights? Join us for a film screening and a follow up discussion to learn more about environmental justice in the light of the No Dakota Access Pipeline. This discussion will display the intersectionality of social and environmental justice. The ties between environmental issues and social issues are shown through the lens of a journalist who will display her first-hand work at Standing Rock. By facilitating this discussion, students have the opportunity to be more informed about the plight of indigenous peoples. Snacks will be provided!
