Guided Meditation/Spiritual Guidance and Reiki Healing

This class is a combination of lecture, discussion and experience. We will explore meditation, the body’s energetic make-up and the scientific and spiritual stance of Reiki energy. We will also learn the practice of self –treatment which is the foundation of Reiki, and giving and receiving a Reiki treatment using all the hand positions. 

How Reiki helps raising the vibration of the planet will also be discussed.

This class is taught by Executive Director of The Serenity House of Flint and Reiki Master Tara Moreno, M.A. And Secretary Julie Hall.

Tara is a spiritual advisor and energy medicine practitioner/ reiki master that incorporates Reiki, Access Consciousness, Meridian Therapy and Christian Mysticism/Shamanic practices into her healing work. Before becoming a conscious healer, Moreno worked as a news reporter for The View Newspaper Group in Burton, Michigan starting 2011. After visiting a holistic practitioner in 2013 and having a profound awakening as a result of energy medicine, she founded the Serenity House, a 501c3 recovery community organization that advocates on the current public health crisis of addiction as well as informing the public of holistic options for recovery.
Tara holds a master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Michigan-Flint and a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University. Tara has training in recovery coaching through Genesee Health Systems, volunteers for the Genesee County Prevention Coalition, and sits on the advisory board for Family Against Narcotics (FAN). Her network also includes the Unite to Face Addiction- Michigan group, a statewide advocacy event based on the public health crisis of addiction, New Paths treatment center and the Odyssey House of Flint. In 2015, Tara brought the first Recovery Walk and Rally and Recovery Arts and Music Show to Flint. These events provide a safe space to celebrate recovery from drugs and alcohol and to eradicate the stigma surrounding addiction. Tara is also a public speaker, teacher, freelance writer and a photographer. She currently lives in Burton, Michigan with her son and daughter.

Secretary Julie Hall grew up in Flushing MI. She is graduate of Mott Community College who is licensed to practice massage therapy and tattoo removal. It is Julie's life passion to serve her community. This passion gave her the vision to found Flint's first tattoo charity, Empower Ink, that removes and covers up tattoos from violence, human trafficking, and drug addiction. Miss Hall has also worked with many other local charities such as More Than Hope, I Heart Autism, and Be The Church. She currently works with her father, Dr. Chris Hall at the Eastside Mission and her mother, Kim Hall, at Central Serves. Julie is currently pursuing training as a yoga instructor and enjoys being a mother.
