Honolulu to Standing Rock ~ Water is Life!

  • First Hawaiian Bank 999 Bishop St Ste 3200 Honolulu, Hawaii 96813 (map)

In coordination with activists from around the world, we will stand in support and solidarity with the Water Protectors at Standing Rock. Join 350.orgHawai'i, Our Revolution Hawai'i, and DeOccupy Honolulu in prayers, a drumming circle, and a call for First Hawaiian Bank to divest from DAPL. FHB's principle shareholder, PNB Paribas, has invested over $400 million in DAPL - which has been brutalizing peaceful Water Protectors, and threatening more damage to the ecosystem in the future.

The Trump administration ordered the Army Corps to stop the environmental review of the Dakota Access Pipeline and grant the final permit. An EVICTION NOTICE for the Oceti Sakowin Camp was served on the 15th and it will be effective on FEBRUARY 22. A FORCIBLE REMOVAL FROM CAMP COULD START AS SOON AS THE DAY AFTER BY THE MILITARIZED POLICE.

The Water Protectors at Standing Rock intend to stand their ground. As Chase Iron Eyes said, Standing Rock is a peaceful, prayerful, nonviolent exercise in our human, treaty, constitutional and civil rights – all of which are at stake. WE CANNOT STAND BY WHILE THEIR RIGHTS ARE BEING TRAMPLED UPON AND OUR WATER AND CLIMATE ARE BEING THREATENED.

Please bring friends, #NoDAPL and divestment related signs and your positive energy for our gathering outside First Hawaiian Bank, downtown Honolulu.

Lots of bus stops are nearby. Parking can be found at Iolani Palace.
