Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal

Join the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network for a free, online Education and Advocacy Training for Women for Climate Justice - 'Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal', to be presented May 24, 2017.

With remarkable diversity and great strength, women are standing to lead movements to protect and defend people and planet, calling for systemic change and justice on the issues that we know are inseparable - from gender justice to Indigenous rights, from racial justice to immigrant rights, from climate change to economic inequality. This moment in history demands that we unite across borders and experiences, and take our collective efforts to another level as we work towards a healthy and just planet in the face of oppressive and dangerous political landscapes. The next years require very strategic planning, action and solidarity at every turn, and we must strengthen and grow webs of action, resistance and hope across the country and the world.

In this context, we invite allies to join us for a free, online WECAN Education and Advocacy training, 'Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal', featuring powerful women leaders who will share strategic analysis; roadmaps for reclaiming our democracy; thoughts on how best to organize in this current political moment; tips on how we can make a difference in the decisions made by our government; and much, much more. This training will focus on the U.S. context, processes and examples, however international allies are welcome to participate.

Speakers to date include: Cindy Weisner (Grassroots Global Justice Alliance); Ashanti Gholar ( Emerge America); and Liz Van Cleve (Project Indivisible).

Full information, speaker biographies and call in details will be available at: http://wecaninternational.org/pages/us-climate-initiative
