7Fires Media Launch (Oct 9 Worldwide)

Join the new media collective, 7Fires in celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day across America!

We are an indigenous led media group, a collective of journalists, documentarians, photographers, filmmakers, artists, and others committed to protecting Mother Earth, indigenous sovereignty and cultures. Honoring our rich storytelling traditions while merging modern equipment and distribution vehicles, we assemble a variety of stories to reflect indigenous interests today. Utilizing journalistic standards and techniques we endeavor to express the essence of the Truth. We strive to maintain the highest production values. We adhere to basic journalistic standards with all that we post, publish, or distribute. We are indigenous lead, related, and respect and honor these important perspectives. We seek to elevate and highlight previously silent voices.

Our formal launch and premiere is Oct. 9th, 2017, formerly Columbus Day and quickly becoming Indigenous Peoples Day, with an all day event celebrating our new holiday on the second Monday in October. We will be sharing the voices and songs of our brothers and sisters across the nation that day on our Facebook page, website and YouTube Channel.

If you are having an event, we’re seeking to share live stream coverage of the various Indigenous Day events on our platforms. Or if you want to make a particular video message - could be a greeting, an issue, even a discussion about the reclamation of the day’s namesake - that you would like us to share with our audience, please send it to us by Oct. 7 so we can include it in our programming. Currently we reach over 750k across our platforms and the numbers are increasing daily, we anticipate over 1 million by our launch date, so this will be a great opportunity for your organization or message to be shared with thousands of new viewers.

Video content could be (but is not limited) to any of the following:
What does Indigenous Peoples Day mean to you?
Stand with Standing Rock
Mni Wiconi - Water is Life!
Message about a local or national issue to highlight

We are open for any creative, unique, and progressive ideas you may have also.
