Definition of “Waters of the United States” - Listening Session for the General Public Teleconference (All US Residents)

THIS IS EASTERN STANDARD TIME!

EPA is currently holding teleconferences to hear from stakeholders regarding their recommendations to revise the definition of “Waters of the United States” under the Clean Water Act (CWA).
This is a direct result of Trump's Presidential Executive Order on Restoring the Rule of Law, Federalism, and Economic Growth by Reviewing the "Waters of the United States" Rule" (2/28/17). This executive order directs that the "Administrator and the Assistant Secretary shall consider interpreting the term "navigable waters," as defined in 33 U.S.C. 1362(7), in a manner consistent with the opinion of Justice Antonin Scalia in Rapanos v. United States, 547 U.S. 715 (2006)". If the EPA decides to adopt Scalia's interpretation, wetlands will no longer be considered under the jurisdiction of the Clean Water Act. The general public are invited to ONE teleconference meeting...this is it!

MUST BE REGISTERED BY MONDAY NOVEMBER 20TH TO PARTICIPATE!

REGISTER HERE: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/7173794786610117378

On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of the Army is holding a teleconference for the general public at large to hear from stakeholders their recommendations to revise the definition of “Waters of the United States” under the Clean Water Act. The agencies will provide a brief presentation via webinar and then invite stakeholders to provide verbal recommendations. Registration for this webinar will close on November 21, 2017. Persons or organizations wishing to provide verbal recommendations during the teleconference will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the expected volume of participants, individuals will be asked to limit their oral presentation to three minutes. Participants who are selected to give verbal recommendations will be notified in advance, and additional participants will be notified in advance of their selection as "alternates" on a standby list to provide verbal comments if time permits. Supporting materials and comments from those who did not have an opportunity to speak can be submitted to the docket, identified by Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OW-2017-0480, at https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=EPA-HQ-OW-2017-0480-0001. The agencies will not be formally responding to verbal or written recommendations.

Sustainable Urban Infrastructure:Green Buildings+Liveable Cities

We are excited to invite you to join our live webinar on "Sustainable Urban Infrastructure: Green Buildings and Liveable Cities", taking place on Wednesday 23rd August at 3PM GMT+1.

As the world continues to focus on sustainability, our definition of environmental sustainability is moving beyond flora and fauna to include the humans in the ecosystem as well, and there is no better front line than the buildings where we spend most of our time.

As environmental, economic and social challenges are now evident, even in high-income nations, transitioning to a sustainable operational model is a priority at the Mayors' desks. As cities are sources of both environmental problems and opportunities, many are already taking strong actions to meet the sustainability challenge.

This webinar, held ahead of the 8th annual Sustainable Innovation Forum on 13-14 November 2017 that takes place alongside COP23 in Bonn, gathers influential representatives of the sustainable cities industry to share best practice around how to achieve good quality of life to current residents that doesn't reduce the opportunities for future residents to enjoy too.

Join us for 'Rights of Nature: Protecting and Defending the Places We Live', a free, online Women's Earth and Climate Action Network Education and Advocacy Training, during which we will explore the paradigm-shifting work of Rights of Nature, and explain how this transformative legal framework is already being used around the world to challenge legal systems based on dominion over and exploitation of the Earth, and instead usher in a legal, social, political and economic framework based upon the inherent rights and natural laws of the Earth’s living systems. We will delve into examples of how U.S. and international communities are successfully enacting local Rights of Nature legislation as a tool to protect ecosystems, their communities and just climate solutions. Presenters will also share stories of the growing global movement for the Rights of Nature and the dynamic Rights of Nature Tribunals that have been held in countries worldwide.

The Gathering - 14 to 28 June, 2017 - Wherever We Are - Worldwide

The Gathering and World Gathering For Truth
http://worldgathering.net/

The Gathering is happening now wherever we are by our sharing with others what we feel and think about life today, and by distributing information we believe is important. Our individual and united actions will lead to a major world change.

The Gathering by Chief Sitting Bull

It is very important that as many people as possible, in different places, should take part in the Gathering. Decide where and when and how to gather, your participation is needed. This is the beginning of the break we are all waiting for. This is the beginning of the turnaround. We have waited so long for the change. It is time. This is the beginning of the end of the old ways, the turning of the tide. State what you believe is true. Exchange the information and hopes you have. Courage is the ability to go beyond the familiar.

Always in the world, a change starts with a few people. These few speak the feelings and thoughts of a multitude. They speak the heart of humanity's soul. The people who are coming together will ring in a return, a turnaround. There will come a flow on Earth which will burst the dark energies surrounding you and your planet. Let your self-belief be your guide, and follow your heart. Realise the greatness you have within yourself, and go ahead. This is the time so many have waited so long for. Never doubt it has started. That which you believe is true must be stated.

Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal

Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal

Join the Women's Earth and Climate Action Network for a free, online Education and Advocacy Training for Women for Climate Justice - 'Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal', to be presented May 24, 2017.

With remarkable diversity and great strength, women are standing to lead movements to protect and defend people and planet, calling for systemic change and justice on the issues that we know are inseparable - from gender justice to Indigenous rights, from racial justice to immigrant rights, from climate change to economic inequality. This moment in history demands that we unite across borders and experiences, and take our collective efforts to another level as we work towards a healthy and just planet in the face of oppressive and dangerous political landscapes. The next years require very strategic planning, action and solidarity at every turn, and we must strengthen and grow webs of action, resistance and hope across the country and the world.

In this context, we invite allies to join us for a free, online WECAN Education and Advocacy training, 'Reclaiming Our Democracy: Resistance and Renewal', featuring powerful women leaders who will share strategic analysis; roadmaps for reclaiming our democracy; thoughts on how best to organize in this current political moment; tips on how we can make a difference in the decisions made by our government; and much, much more. This training will focus on the U.S. context, processes and examples, however international allies are welcome to participate.

Speakers to date include: Cindy Weisner (Grassroots Global Justice Alliance); Ashanti Gholar ( Emerge America); and Liz Van Cleve (Project Indivisible).

Full information, speaker biographies and call in details will be available at: http://wecaninternational.org/pages/us-climate-initiative

On May 10th, and on every full moon, we are each invited to remember and give gratitude for own personal sacred relationship with our Source of Life on this magnificent Earth ~ Our Water. This is an open expression of Love and appreciation for all that Water does for us as her creation. We, her Children, are now coming home to her and are called to give simple ceremony of reciprocity to receive and give the blessings of deep gratitude from and to Our Living Source Water.

Each month Loving Waters sends out Water's Loving Call to all people aligned with this essential message. We believe THE ONLY TIME IS NOW and that this is an imperative to transforming the dysfunctional human relationship with Life itself ... we must reboot from the roots and live within the clear and pure core Truth of Water as Source.

We may commit to this practice in many ways, in many traditions, in many diverse celebrations, and as often as we desire. You choose the expression that resonates most clearly with you. Most simply please consider making a point of giving thanks to Water every time she gives herself to you ... every drink, every shower, every piece of food. With every person you meet, make a point to look into the Water of their Eyes and silently give thanks ... we are One in the Water.

As well, the focus of Loving Waters is to call all our world's communities, each co-dependent upon our World's Watersheds, to come together to stand in ceremony on their own shores in gratitude for Our One Water to give and receive the Blessing of the Water. We invite this conversation to open and expand. Bring your own children into this concept.

On April 10th, and on every full moon, we are each invited to remember and give gratitude for own personal sacred relationship with our Source of Life on this magnificent Earth ~ Our Water. This is an open expression of Love and appreciation for all that Water does for us as her creation. We, her Children, are now coming home to her and are called to give simple ceremony of reciprocity to receive and give the blessings of deep gratitude from and to Our Living Source Water.

Each month Loving Waters sends out Water's Loving Call to all resonant beings. We believe THE ONLY TIME IS NOW and that this is an imperative to transforming the dysfunctional human relationship with Life itself ... we must reboot from the roots and live within the clear and pure core Truth of Water.

Enbridge is attempting to renew the permit for Line 5 pipeline through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest which runs through Bayfield County. The permit includes 11.5 miles of pipeline and spans roughly 71 acres.

Line 5 is was built in 1953 and was engineered for just a 50-year life expectancy, a date that has long since come and gone. Each day Line 5 carries 540,000 barrels (22.7 million gallons) of Alberta tar sands and Bakken crude oil and poses an extreme risk to the watersheds of all five Great Lakes.

Communities across North America are standing in opposition of Enbridge and organizing to shut down Line 5, including the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa who announced 1/4/17 that they will not renew Enbridge's permit and want the pipeline removed from reservation land! (Read announcement: https://wcmcoop.com/2017/01/05/bad-river-band-denies-renewal-of-enbridge-line-5-grant-of-easement/)
We have an opportunity to support the leadership the Bad River Band has shown and support the USFS in shutting down Line 5 through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest as well!

Contact the Washburn Forest Service (contact info above) and tell them:
1. Do not renew Enbridge's permit for Line 5.
2. Require Enbridge to remove Line 5 from USFS land.
3. Request a Public Hearing in Bayfield County regarding the permit before a decision is made by the USFS.
4. Require a Environmental Impact Statement or Environmental Assessment before proceeding with a decision on the permit for Line 5.

350.org Livestream - Fighting the Keystone XL Pipeline

This past Friday, 3/24, Donald Trump approved the federal permit for the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline … but the approval doesn’t mean it’s a done deal and the fight is far from over. There’s no permitted route through Nebraska, native tribes are hard at work in South Dakota, and a team of lawyers is getting ready to do battle.
Join a live strategy session today, Monday, March 27th at 8:00 PM EST, to hear from movement leaders who’ve defeated Keystone once, and are ready to do it again.

Hour of Spiritual Unity 3.27 - Anywhere

What if people all over the world, from all religions and no religion, united for one hour?

How much Light would be revealed? How would the world change?

On Monday, March 27th, participate however you choose to in this movement of global unification. Details:
• WHAT: Engage in a conscious activity that awakens your spirit. It can be reading from a holy scripture, meditation, contemplation, yoga,– anything of your choosing.
• WHEN: Any hour in the evening that suits you. Your evening, wherever you are in the world.
• HOW: There’s no set physical event to attend, this is a global unification of our individual energy. Connect by yourself, with a group, or by attending a consciousness-based event or gathering. You can be a part of the evening just by connecting.
• WHY: To infuse the Aries New Moon, which is the lunar New Year, with the energy of oneness as the seed level of the coming 365 days.

It has been my dream that one day, barriers will be removed between people, and that we will find respect for each other’s spiritual practices and beliefs. For holy books from different traditions may contain different words but the message remains the same: To love each other, to love ourselves, and to grow our love and awe for the Infinite Force that is all around us and gives us life. Indeed, unity can be the foundation of our differences.

This year, the New Moon of Aries begins on the evening of Monday, March 27th. The kabbalists teach that this is the lunar New Year, the seed level of the coming 365 days, the start of a new cycle. What better time to use the technology available in our generation to do what has never been done before— to join together, regardless of our individual paths, to infuse the seed with unity and respect, to create a year that is the Tree of Life from which all the world can be nurtured.

With this in mind, I extend a personal invitation to you to participate in an Hour of Spiritual Unity. On the evening of March 27th, during the hour of your choosing and from wherever in the world you are, I invite you to engage in a conscious activity that awakens your spirit. It can be reading from a holy scripture — be it the Zohar, the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Quran, the Yogi Sutras, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Pali Canon, even poetry. Or if you prefer, you can meditate, contemplate, practice yoga, dance, sing…it is your choice and your individual connection. My hope is that together, our individual connections will generate a collective, global shift in consciousness.

Here's how you can participate:
1. Select Going or Interested & Share this event with friends
2. Update your profile pic with our graphic https://kabbalah.com/hourofspiritualunity#profilepic
3. Share your 1 hour pledge using #HourOfSpiritualUnity
4. On 3/27, post your participation using #HourOfSpiritualUnity

This is the beauty of social media, as it brings everyone together like never before in history, with no boundary of geography, language, or other such barriers. Let us create a wave of energy that will ripple throughout the digital landscape, and around the globe. Let us inspire the choice of spiritual unity.

For many people in the world, these are dark times. Yet, we know that when you turn on the Light, the darkness disappears. May the Light that emanates from our unified efforts during this hour, shine so bright that it illuminates even the darkest corners of the world.

This is my most heartfelt desire, and I pray that you will join me.

God speed.

Karen Berg
Spiritual Director of The Kabbalah Centre
