From Standing Rock to Florida - Day of Action to Defund the Pipelines
March 17th, 4-6pm
Wells Fargo @ 1717 NW 13th Street in Gainesville

Join us March 17th for our Day of Action to Defund the Pipelines. Last week, what was left of the Sacred Stone Camp was destroyed. The Water Protectors and protesters who have valiantly resisted the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) for months, through terrible weather conditions and violence at the hands of militarized police, are no longer physically present at Standing Rock.

Wells Fargo is one of the primary funders of DAPL, along with the Sabal Pipeline in our own backyard, which threatens to contaminate 60% of our groundwater with methane.

The 17 banks financing the DAPL project, including Wells Fargo, have not yet disbursed all the loan funds they’ve committed. If they pull their funding, the pipeline cannot continue. We — as community members, customers and account holders — can pressure Wells Fargo to take a stand and divest from both the DAPL and the Sabal Pipeline.

The Water Protectors and the Standing Rock Sioux have inspired the world. They’ve asked that we keep up our fight against DAPL and "black snakes" across the continent, and together, we will continue to speak up, and to divest from the banks that continually put profit over people and our planet.

Together, let us stand for racial justice, native sovereignty, and environmental sanity here in both Florida and North Dakota, and tell Wells Fargo there will be no banking as usual until funding for these "black snakes" are stopped once and for all.

** Folks with a Wells Fargo account are encouraged to join us and to withdraw their funds on the 17th. We will help you with finding a credit union.
