A Permanent, Statewide Ban on Fracking Waste is Within Sight!

The CT Legislature's Environment Committee has moved to draft a Proposed House Bill (PHB) 6329, which would create a permanent ban on Fracking Waste in CT! [1]

Background: In 2014, the state of CT put a temporary ban on fracking waste entering CT for processing and disposal (Public Act 14-200) [2], giving the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) time to research and present regulations for tracking this waste in the future. DEEP is due to present their proposed regulations any time beginning in July 2017.

Since this moratorium passed in 2014, over 750 studies have been published on the effects of fracking waste. CT needs to reverse course and pass PHB 6329, writing it to ban hydraulic fracturing and all oil and gas drilling and extractions wastes.

YOU ARE NEEDED NOW to build support for a permanent ban, PHB 6329. Time is of the essence, and together we can do this.
