Hi everyone at 350 Denver – my name is Maggie and I look forward to meeting you on March 13! In the meantime, I wanted to tell you about this event. I booked a time with Sen. Gardner's office to talk about climate change. We have 30 minutes with Annie Larson (Regional Director- Denver Office). I'm looking for four other people who would like to join me that Thursday morning 10-10:30am to discuss climate change. I was thinking we could have five people total, each taking five minutes to talk about a certain issue – like permafrost, or water, or the effects of climate change in Colorado in particular, etc.
I've done this kind of meeting with the Sen.'s office before – about net neutrality – it's not super stressful, in my opinion. Basically, you just talk with the staffer for a bit about the issue and perhaps submit some paperwork at the end like like I was thinking a signed statement from all of us about what350.org is calling for:
* No new fossil fuel projects.
* A fast and just transition to 100% renewable energy.
* Not a penny more for dirty energy.
Are you informed and able to talk eloquently about the issue of climate change? Then please join me!
