Emergency Day Of Action, Denver

  • Denver's Union Station 1701 Wynkoop Street Denver, CO, 80202 United States (map)

Join us on June 10th to celebrate the Denver Mayor's commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement emission reductions and to tell Governor Hickelooper to #ActOnClimate by signing onto the US Climate Alliance. Let's join in celebration with dozens of cities and 9 states that are already taking climate action seriously and tell our Governor and other local cities to sign on.

Let's drive our collective outrage regarding Trump's decision to reject the Paris agreement into local action and show the world a unified national response on this national day of action!

The action we need from every elected official is clear: Join with countries around the world who are committing to do their part to address the climate crisis via Paris Climate Agreement emission reductions. Let's call on our Governor to do the same. Let's stop building new fossil fuel projects. And let's divest from coal, oil and gas companies now!

We will be meeting at Union Station to ask people to sign a petition to our Governor to sign Colorado up for the list of states supporting the Paris Climate agreement standards. We will work in pairs/small groups, so no one has to make requests alone. There is a delightful farmer's market going on for morning snacks or shopping after the event, if you're interested, which should help ensure that there are lots of like minded people interested in signing up for our petition, as well. (http://www.bcfm.org/union-station-farmers-market/). There is even the possibility of hanging out for some social time fun afterward, if we so desire.

All that is required is that you show up and share some time with your fellow activists. If you have clip boards, or great climate related t-shirts or signs, by all means, represent!
