Boulder County Climate Bill of Rights Solidarity Light Protest

  • Mall 1400 Pearl St Boulder, CO 80302 (map)

Come on down to 14th and Pearl on Friday night at 8pm. We’ll be shining lights, and educating the public about the Boulder County, Colorado, Climate Bill of Rights and Protections, and the current, attempted intrusion of fracking into Boulder County. We’ll have flyers about fracking and copies of the Climate Bill of Rights to hand out to the public—and we could use your help.

We want to let the public know that:
The oil and gas moratorium ends May 1st.
The Boulder County Commissioners approved fracking regulations, on March 23rd.
That clears the way for issuing fracking permits.
Up to 1800 fracking wells planned in Boulder County.
Each well requires 3000 heavy equipment truck trips, that’s 5.4 million trips total.
Each well requires 8 million gallons of water, that’s 14 billion gallons, the entire capacity of Gross Reservoir.
Regulations can not make fracking safe for people, children, wildlife, air, water, soil, or eco-systems.

We want to ask them to:
First CALL TO ACTION
Send an email to the Boulder County Commissioners and tell them to ADOPT THE CLIMATE BILL OF RIGHTS, and to BAN FRACKING in Boulder County.
oilgascomment@bouldercounty.org
Second CALL TO ACTION
Tell 10 friends about this issue and send them to http://suedelightbrigade.com/ for basic education and to read the Boulder County, Colorado, Climate Bill of Rights and Protections.

We also want to let them know that there is a Climate Bill of Rights before the Boulder County Commissioners. We would like to provide them with a copy of the Climate Bill of Rights and get their opinions.

Thank you East Boulder County United for drafting and submitting the Boulder County, Colorado, Climate Bill of Rights and Protections.
