"Honor the Protectors" Earth Day Gathering at the Park

  • Settler's Park Trailhead Boulder, CO 80301 (map)

Calling all Water Protectors and Allies! Come together in unity on Earth Day to continue upholding our commitment to protect and defend the sacred waters of the land! Standing Rock is everywhere...Fracking becomes legal in Boulder County on May 1st! We have much work to do here at home to protect the water and stand up for our rights!

Come join us at the "Settler's Park" (soon to be renamed) trailhead at 12 noon on Earth Day as we honor all Water Protectors and rally in support of the proposal by the City of Boulder's Human Relations Commission to consider changing the name of this beautiful and sacred place so deeply cherished by the indigenous Cheyenne / Arapahoe ancestors & descendants from this land.

Changing the name to Protectors Park would help bring healing and reconciliation for the historic injustices and acts og genocidal violence committed by settlers against Native people while reminding all future visitors to the Park that protection of Mother Earth is all of our responsibilities!
