Voices of Water: WAKE the WORLD UP (Standing Rock to Vancouver)

MONDAY we are so fortunate to be hosting the second stop of the west coast Standing Rock Water Protector Tour, put on by Honour the Earth. Join us for a night of music, speakers and strategies of resistance from the heart of the front lines. Show your support and become part of a movement started at Standing Rock and now spreading across Turtle Island. 

Nataani Means Nataanii Means (Oglala Lakota/Diné/Omaha), Yaz Like Jaws Jaz  Curtis Ray Yaz , (Yupik/ Diné/ Blackfeet), Tufawon Tufawon (Dakota/ Puerto Rico), all of whom have been living at Standing Rock as water protectors, hip hop artists and divestment organizers

Freda Huson and Dini Ze Smogelgem spokesperson and hereditaty chief of the Unis’ot’en Clan will be joining us, Freda will be speaking. 

Cecilia Point from the Musqueam Nation well known as a community organizer and activist against the Kinder Morgan pipeline on her territory will be leading brief protocol and welcoming us to her territory. 

The tour is being led by Honour the Earth with the intention of building the momentum of Indigenous resurgence following Standing Rock & also furthering the divestment movement. There will be an informative panel by the Water Protectors followed by musical performances of original material born out of the movement at Standing Rock. 

Suggested donation $15, no one turned away for lack of funds.

This event is taking place upon the unceeded and occupied territory of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam Coast Salish people.

Venue is wheelchair accessible, with wide washroom stalls.
