Vancouver Wild Salmon Caravan 2017 Parade (Oct 7 Vancouver BC)

Saturday, October 7 –on the Unceded territories of Musqueam, Tsleil Waututh, Skwxwừ7mesh Ủxwumixw – Squamish (Vancouver)

The parade this year will travel from the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre up Commercial Drive to 14th Ave then to Trout Lake for a gathering and free feast with speakers + music. 

Bring your drums, regalia, town clothes, costumes, banners, flags, streamers and any other Mardi Gras style parade wares you need. Come with us to celebrate the spirit of wild salmon!

9 am – Assemble for parade at 1607 E Hastings

10 am – Rainbow Nations parade leaves for Trout Lake via Commercial Drive

12 Noon – Opening ceremony at Trout Lake by Elders and Youth

1 pm – Free Wild Salmon Feast (hosted by Vancouver Food Policy Council)

2 pm – Speakers, performances, drumming & singing

3:30 pm – Closing ceremony

Overnight stay in Vancouver (Camping and meals on your own) – Some billeting can be arranged for Elders if needed.
